Munich (dpa) - National coach Joachim Löw has reaffirmed his handling of the much-discussed personalities Thomas Müller (31), Mats Hummels (32) and Jérôme Boateng (32).
"You shouldn't stop a change completely, but you can," Loew said on Saturday evening during the break in the top Bundesliga match between FC Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund on Sky TV.
He recently made this clear again in his interviews, said the 61-year-old.
Löw had told the “Kicker” and ARD that he would rule out a comeback of the three ex-world champions at the start of the EM season in the three upcoming World Cup qualifiers this month against Iceland, Romania and North Macedonia.
Löw once again left it open whether the trio or one of the players could return to the European Football Championship in the summer.
"If you have a year like us in which development has stopped due to a ten-month break, then of course you can think about it," said Loew.
The EM is "a competition of its own, and of course it is our job to bring the best players out there and the best team in order to guarantee the greatest possible success".
Löw had eliminated the 2014 world champions Müller, Hummels and Boateng from the national team in spring 2019.

After the most recent 6-0 draw against Spain, the call for attacker Müller to return was very loud.
“We always talk about the three players Hummels, Boateng and Thomas Müller.
We will decide that in May.
We'll see: Where do we stand, what do we need? "Said Löw and emphasized:" If you bring such players back now, then of course you have to give them a clear responsibility and have them on and off the pitch Take responsibility.
Then of course they are set. "
In May a decision will be made as to “what is most effective for the tournament”.
