"On March 7, a law comes into force that prohibits the forcible disembarkation of children under 16 years of age from public transport for unpaid travel if they are traveling unaccompanied by adults," the statement on the State Duma website says.

According to the Chairman of the State Duma Viacheslav Volodin, leaving children alone on the road is dangerous for their life and health.

He stressed that a situation similar to the case in Kirov, when a 12-year-old girl was dropped off the bus late in the evening in a 20-degree frost by a conductor, should not be repeated.

On February 10, the head of the National Parents' Committee, Ombudsman for the Rights of the Child in the Republic of Tatarstan, Irina Volynets, assessed the bill prohibiting the disembarkation of passengers under 16 years of age from public transport who have not paid their fare.
