U.S. Experts: The accelerated spread of mutant viruses in the United States is far from a time to relax your vigilance

From the latest data, compared with the large-scale spread of the new crown virus from the end of 2020 to January this year, the new crown pneumonia epidemic in the United States has been brought under certain control, and more and more states have relaxed their local epidemic prevention measures.

However, American medical experts expressed concern about this, believing that the current data on new coronary pneumonia is still at a very high level, and the mutant virus is also spreading everywhere. It is far from the time to relax our vigilance.

According to the latest data released by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recently, there have been at least 2753 cases of COVID-19 infections in the United States. The infection strains include the first three mutated viruses discovered in the United Kingdom, South Africa and Brazil.

Among them, 2672 cases of infection originated from the mutated virus B.1.1.7 found in the UK, 68 cases of infection originated from the mutated virus B.1.351 found in South Africa, and 13 cases of infection originated from the mutated virus P.1 found in Brazil.

For this reason, Fauci, director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, stated at the White House New Coronary Pneumonia Press Conference on the 5th that the spread of the new coronavirus in the community above the baseline level is very detrimental to effective epidemic prevention.

CDC Director Valensky also expressed the same concerns at the press conference that day.

Valensky said that the current number of new coronary pneumonia cases in the United States continues to fluctuate between 60,000 and 70,000, while the death toll is about 2,000 per day.

Many medical experts have warned that the current mutant virus has shown a higher than usual infection rate. Relaxing epidemic prevention measures is tantamount to "going the sheep to the tiger's mouth."

The mutated new crown virus B.1.1.7 is currently spreading widely in the United States, posing a huge threat to the community.

Compared with the ordinary new coronavirus, its transmission rate has increased by 40% to 60%. At this rate, it is likely to cause more serious diseases.

From the data of all states in the United States, the same is true. The detection rate of mutant viruses has soared from the original 1% or 2% to 20% to 30%.
