In Campania the operations center no longer finds places

06 March 2021 The current pandemic situation in Italy would immediately require a hard lockdown.

Alternatively, the only possible compromise is that of an automatic red zone at the exact moment in which the threshold of 250 infections per 100 thousand inhabitants is exceeded.

This is the position of the Technical Scientific Committee which, according to what AGI has learned, would have 'strongly' suggested to the government to anchor the automatism at this threshold beyond which health management becomes out of control.

The limit of 250 cases appears in the dpcm which comes into force today, but leaves the possibility to the governors to decide whether or not to implement the red zone.

For the CTS, however, the color change should not be optional in light of the extreme condition in which the country finds itself.

On the other hand, the updated weekly monitoring data yesterday spoke clearly: the epidemiological situation marks a worsening, the RT is rising and is fixed at 1.06.

And it is 15 days 'delayed' data.

Perhaps too old, according to experts who are calling for a review of the system.

For the CTS, therefore, the best recipe would be the 'Ricciardi' one: the extreme lockdown.

Like that of March.

But there are those who, outside the Scientific Technical Committee, argue that it is a medicine that saves from the disease but kills the patient.

And then we have to resort to another solution.

That, in fact, of the automatic red zone when the threshold is crossed.

Not only.

In light of the current spread of the infection, the same CTS, which has spent a lot in recent months to keep the school open, would have found that to date suspending lessons in presence is the only possible way.

This is because little or nothing has been done in recent months in terms of traceability and identification of school clusters.

But closing the school only makes sense if other activities are also suspended.

Preventing children from attending classes but allowing them to meet in shopping malls, or in the places of nightlife, means not having understood the seriousness of the situation.
