Hildesheim (dpa) - The Netzhoppers KW Bestensee have forced a derby in the playoff quarter-finals with a success in the last main round game of the volleyball Bundesliga.

After the 3: 1 (23:25, 25:19, 27:25, 25:23) success at the Grizzlys Giesen, the team of coach Christophe Acht is in sixth place in the table.

This means that the Netzhoppers will receive the BR Volleys in the first quarter-final game in the "Best-of-Three" mode on March 10th, who finished the main round as third in the table.

In the tenth win of the season in the 20th game on Saturday in the Volksbank Arena in Hildesheim, Theo Timmermann was the most successful point collector on the field with 24 points.

The hosts made an early start and took a 6-1 lead.

The Netzhoppers slowly came into play and were able to equalize for the first time at 13:13 and make the set open again.

But the grizzlies had the more successful end to themselves.

After changing sides, the Brandenburg guests were able to take the lead at 2-1 for the first time and, for their part, made an early start with 5-1 and thus managed to equalize the set.

The third set was also balanced, which the Netzhoppers only secured with the third set ball and with the second set won the missing point required to reach the playoffs.

The cheers at 27:25, however, turned out to be rather restrained, as the Brandenburgers wanted to secure the victory and thus the possible sixth place.

With a 4-1 lead, the Brandenburgers also went into the fourth set and were able to keep the lead by three points in the course.

With the three points, the Netzhoppers passed the United Volleys Frankfurt, which had triumphed over the Netzhoppers in the cup final last weekend.
