In order to solve the problem of land left unidentified by the owner, the government has included mandatory registration when inheriting and the creation of a system that allows the government to give up unnecessary land and make it belong to the country. However, the Cabinet decided on amendments to the Civil Code and the Real Estate Registration Law.

Since the number of lands left unidentified by the owner is increasing due to the fact that the registration procedure is not performed when inheriting, the government decided to amend the Civil Code and the Real Estate Registration Law at a cabinet meeting on the 5th. I decided.

Among them, registration is obligatory when inheriting land and buildings, and if you do not apply within 3 years from the acquisition, you will be charged a fine of 100,000 yen or less, and inherited in order to reduce the burden of application. It is said that a new procedure will be set up to allow registration just by requesting a person.

In addition, for land whose owner is unknown, the court will select a manager and establish a system that allows management and sale on behalf of the owner, and 10 years have passed without a request for inheritance division from the inheritor. If so, it will be divided according to the ratio stipulated by law.

On the other hand, the establishment of a system that allows the inherited unnecessary land to be parted and attributed to the country is also included, provided that there is no building or soil pollution.

The government has a policy of aiming for establishment in the current ordinary Diet session.
