Zwickau (dpa) - FSV Zwickau succeeded in the hoped-for liberation in the relegation battle of the 3rd soccer league.

Coach Joe Enochs' team won 3-0 (2-0) against SC Verl on Friday.

Nils Miatke (1st minute), Ronny König (27th) and Felix Drinkuth (64th) scored the goals.

With 33 points, the FSV occupies eleventh place in the table at least temporarily.

The FSV got off to an ideal start in the game.

After just 24 seconds, Miatke hit a low shot after a pass from Morris Schröter to make it 1-0.

The Saxons then attacked the guests early on in the build-up of the game and thus provoked many ball losses.

In the 27th minute, König increased to 2-0.

After Manfred Starke failed with a header at Verl's goalkeeper Robin Brüseke, the striker dusted off from close range.

Even after the break, the Enochs team remained focused and kept Verl far away from their own goal.

Substitute Drinkuth completed a counterattack in the 64th minute to make it 3-0.

The guests had 14 corners before the final whistle, but FSV goalkeeper Johannes Brinkies only rarely had to intervene.
