Saarbrücken (dpa / lrs) - As announced, the state government of Saarland is loosening the corona rules.

From Monday (March 8th), among other things, gardeners, bookshops and flower shops as well as tattoo and piercing studios are allowed to reopen.

In retail stores, stores can once again receive one customer per 40 square meters of sales area if they have previously arranged an appointment with him for a limited period of time.

Museums and galleries can also be visited again if an appointment has been made in advance.

"With the careful opening steps - combined with a safety net made up of more tests - we want to master the difficult balancing act between health protection and the understandable need for more freedom," said Prime Minister Tobias Hans (CDU) on Friday in Saarbrücken.

Economics Minister Anke Rehlinger (SPD) explained: "The opening concept is a very strictly timed timetable out of the permanent lockdown."

The ordinance passed by the cabinet is initially valid until March 21st - in principle, the state's corona ordinances are limited to two weeks.

However, the state government had announced that the lockdown in Saarland will be extended until March 28th.

The federal and state governments agreed on this on Wednesday.

Individual appointments can be made for outdoor areas such as fitness studios.

The first steps have already been taken to open it.

Hairdressers have been reopened under strict conditions since March 1st.

In addition, shopping in the outdoor areas of garden centers is possible again, as is “appointment shopping” in shops with a maximum of two people from one household.

Since February 22nd, the primary schools have been in alternating instruction and the day-care centers are back in regular operation.

On Monday (March 8th), grades 5 and 6 will switch between lessons in the classroom and learning from home.

Schoolchildren in the 2022 Abitur class will then have face-to-face classes.

The Ministry of Education announced that the remaining grades will start on March 15 with alternating classes.
