In the entire eastern region of the police, which includes Sörmland, approximately 45 percent fewer passports have been issued in 2020 compared with previous years.
According to Johan Levin, local police area manager in Nyköping, the figure is about the same in Sörmland.
Four passport places in the county
Therefore, the expectation now is that there is a pent-up need to apply for a new passport.
Pre-booking takes place online and can then be completed at four locations in the county: Eskilstuna, Katrineholm, Nyköping and Strängnäs.
