Washington (AP) - The Washington Wizards unexpectedly won against the Los Angeles Clippers with national player Moritz Wagner in the last game before the All-Star break in the NBA.

The Wizards were now 16 points behind the top team, but fought their way back and defended their lead in the contested final seconds.

Wagner got twelve points and three stolen balls in just over 19 minutes of play.

"We want to go to the playoffs," said Wagner.

"For that we have to do what we have to do."

The second international, Isaac Bonga, did not play.

The Clippers had to do without Paul George at short notice.

In the Eastern Conference, the Wizards kept through the success of the connection to rank ten, which entitles them to participate in the qualification for the playoffs.

The Clippers are fourth in the Western Conference.

Daniel Theis can also relax with a win in the coming days.

In the 132: 125 victory of the Boston Celtics against the Toronto Raptors, the center only had a little more than seven minutes on the floor as the starting player.

"Every time we can save Theis a few minutes, that's good," said coach Brad Stevens.

"Theis is a huge part of us and we will need him urgently in the future," he said.

But against the Raptors he had a better feeling with the other players.

The Celtics go into the short break as fourth in the Eastern Conference.

Despite an even better yield of 21 wins and 15 defeats after the 113: 103 against the Indiana Pacers, the Denver Nuggets have to fight much more in the strong Western Conference in the second half of the season for direct participation in the playoffs.

The team around replacement center Isaiah Hartenstein is in sixth place - from seventh place onwards, the qualification starts.

Hartenstein played eleven minutes, hit all three throws and a free throw and scored seven points.
