Yesterday, a number of protesters in Lebanon organized marches and protests in front of the homes of a number of politicians in the city of Tripoli, northern Lebanon, due to the deteriorating living conditions and the high exchange rate of the dollar against the Lebanese pound.

The streets of Tripoli roamed the foot marches, during which a number of protesters carried out stops, and lit tires in front of the homes of a number of politicians in the city, due to the high prices, poor living conditions and the high price of the dollar, and the protesters chanted slogans condemning the politicians.

On the other hand, a number of protesters cut off the Palma highway in Tripoli to protest against the deteriorating living conditions.

Lebanese also blocked a number of roads in different regions in eastern, northern and southern Lebanon and in Mount Lebanon yesterday afternoon, in protest against the deteriorating living conditions and the high exchange rate of the dollar against the Lebanese pound.

In southern Lebanon, a number of protesters gathered in the square of the Elia Junction in Sidon, and lit tires, and others blocked the road on the Naameh highway, south of Beirut.

In northern Lebanon, a number of protesters blocked a highway in Halba Al-Qobayat with burning tires.

In the Bekaa region in eastern Lebanon, a number of protesters blocked the Farzol-Ablah highway as part of the protests.

It is noteworthy that popular protests began last Tuesday after the dollar exchange rate reached the threshold of 10,000 Lebanese pounds, and included all Lebanese regions from the north to the south, the east and Mount Lebanon, in addition to the capital Beirut and its southern suburbs.

Citizens of different ages, regions and sects participated in these protests, and the protests continued sporadically last Wednesday.

The rise in the exchange rate of the dollar on the black market to 10,000 Lebanese pounds led to a significant increase in the prices of consumer goods and a decrease in the purchasing power of citizens.
