Berlin (dpa) - After the digital prelude, the Humboldt Forum is looking for a date for the opening of the internationally ambitious cultural project.
The four partners involved are currently coordinating, said a spokesman for the Humboldt Forum on Friday in Berlin.
The corona lockdown made the first opening step planned last December a purely digital process.
The center for culture, art and science, which costs around 680 million euros, will be used in future by two museums of the Prussian Cultural Heritage Foundation, the State of Berlin and the Humboldt University.
After the three opening steps planned for the end of the year, exhibits from Asia, Africa, America and Oceania as well as objects on the history of Berlin will be shown.
The approximately 40,000 square meter building designed by the Italian architect Franco Stella is behind the much criticized reconstructed facade of the Hohenzollern Castle.
"We will have to gather a lot of experience at the start anyway," said General Director Hartmut Dorgerloh of the dpa last.
That is why there are also advantages to having to start with a smaller audience due to the corona.
The house is designed for up to 10,000 visitors a day.
