Wolnzach (dpa / lby) - After years of disputes over a large poultry fattening facility in Upper Bavaria, the operator can now complete the operation.

As the District Office Pfaffenhofen an der Ilm reported on Friday, the so-called immediate execution has now been ordered for the facility intended for almost 125,000 broilers.

"This allows the operator to make use of the permit during the legal proceedings," said the authority.

The facility in Wolnzach was originally intended to be expanded from 40,000 to almost 145,000 animals.

After the construction was stopped by a court in 2019, the operator submitted a new application for a slightly smaller mast system.

The district office then approved these plans at the end of 2020.

According to its own statements, the Federal Nature Conservation Association has also filed a lawsuit against the new permit.
