Chief safety representative sounds alarm: "Healthcare workers get sick from the vaccine"

For a week now, a mass vaccination of Regions Skåne's healthcare staff has been underway.

35-40 percent of healthcare professionals have experienced side effects from Astra Zeneca's vaccine, according to Ronny Öhman, chief safety representative at Sus.

Take the syringe before the weekend

In the hospital area in Malmö, staff queue to get the first syringe.

Sandra Andersson works in adult psychiatry in Trelleborg.

She has heard about the side effects and therefore chose to take the injection the day before the free weekend.

- So that my colleagues do not have to suffer from the fact that I need to be away from work, says Sandra Andersson.

"Comply with the law"

The Swedish Medical Association demands that staff who are vaccinated and become bedridden avoid salary deductions, but the hospital management does not agree.

- We see that we must follow the legislation on sick leave, says hospital manager Björn Elmehag.
