Munich (AP) - FC Bayern Munich will play the Bundesliga home game against Borussia Dortmund without soccer world champion Benjamin Pavard.

After surviving the coronavirus infection, the full-back should not be fully integrated again until the coming week.

"After such an illness, it is always important to have a certain timetable," said coach Hansi Flick the day before the game on Saturday (6.30 p.m. / Sky).

The 24-year-old Pavard has been back in training since Wednesday.

Against BVB, Niklas Süle is likely to defend again on the right rear.

Thomas Müller was last used again after his infection after only two days of training against 1. FC Köln (5: 1).

At that time the squad was smaller, now you have enough players even without Pavard, said Flick.

The 56-year-old is looking forward to the competition between the Munich leaders against the fifth in the table.

"Games against Dortmund are always something special," said Flick.

"The duels of the last few years have shown that, they were games at a very high level."

BVB have shown in the past weeks and games what quality they have.
