According to a report on the India Today website on March 5, the police of Uttar Pradesh, India, said on the 4th that three Indian citizens had entered Nepal and were shot by the Nepalese police. One of them died of serious injuries in the hospital.

The deceased was named Govinda, 26 years old this year.

It is not yet clear why the three of them entered Nepal.

A police chief in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh revealed that Dagovin had entered Nepal with two other male partners and clashed with the Nepalese police on certain issues. Dagovin was shot during the clash and was taken by a partner. After returning to India, he was seriously injured and died, while the whereabouts of their other partner is still unknown.

Indian police said that after the incident, tensions on the border between India and Nepal have intensified and Indian police are monitoring the situation.

At the end of June 2020, similar incidents also occurred in the border areas of India and Nepal.

At that time, three Indian citizens went to search for their cattle in the "no man's land" on the India-Nepal border. The Nepal Armed Police (NAPF) opened fire on three people and injured one.

It is understood that in early May 2020, Indian Defense Minister Singh suddenly announced that it was an 80-kilometer-long road connecting India’s inland to Liplik Pass and passing through Karapani, which triggered dissatisfaction and protests in Nepal.

The Nepali side criticized India's actions as an "invasion" and released a new version of the national administrative map on May 20 to further clarify disputed areas such as Karapani as Nepalese territory.

The Indian Ministry of Foreign Affairs subsequently issued a statement stating that it refused to recognize the new version of Nepal's map, calling it a "unilateral action" and "not based on historical facts or evidence."

It is reported that according to the new version of Nepal's map, the country's land area is about 335 square kilometers larger than that of the old version.

The border between India and Nepal is also in tension due to territorial disputes.
