Hanover (dpa / lni) - The number of mutation cases found in newly infected people with corona in Lower Saxony continues to rise sharply.
By Thursday, a total of 3788 of them had been detected, 3685 of them were the British variant, as the State Health Office in Hanover announced.
A week ago, the number of cases of mutation was 1394. The state health office was not yet able to say what proportion the virus variants now have in the overall infection rate due to a lack of systematic recording.
The number of registered new corona infections rose by 1191 on Thursday, and the seven-day incidence stagnated at 65 in the past few days, as the Ministry of Social Affairs announced.
Meanwhile, the downward trend among hospital patients continues: 908 corona infected people were in a clinic on Thursday, 215 of them in the intensive care unit.
150 adults and one child must be artificially ventilated.
