At the meeting, the Ninth Procuratorate of the Supreme People's Procuratorate and the "Girl Protection" team signed a memorandum of cooperation.
It is reported that this cooperation is of great significance to effectively safeguarding the interests of minors, strengthening and innovating the social governance of the protection of minors, and developing and improving the construction of a social support system for minors.
The two parties will conduct in-depth cooperation in the areas of child sexual assault prevention, legal education, victim assistance, psychological counseling, and the presence of suitable adults to give full play to their respective advantages, gradually improve the cooperation and linkage mechanism, and jointly promote the scientific, professional, and standardized protection of minors development of.
The memorandum of cooperation clearly stated that the Ninth Procuratorate and the “Girl Protection” team will jointly promote the development of minors’ sexual assault prevention education, and thoroughly implement the Supreme Procurator’s “No. 1 Prosecutorial Recommendation”.
At the same time, the two parties will jointly strengthen the construction of the social support system for juvenile procuratorial work, promote the rescue of juvenile victims, and prevent juvenile delinquency.
Through holding activities, media publicity, and developing a series of public education products, strengthen the popularization and education of the concept and knowledge of public protection of minors, and jointly promote the formation of a joint protection force for the whole society.
The person in charge of the Ninth Prosecutor's Office stated that the "Girl Protection" team has adhered to child protection work for many years and has formed mature experience and professional strength in child sexual assault prevention knowledge and adolescent sex education.
It is believed that the cooperation between the two parties will yield fruitful results in promoting the implementation of "Prosecution Recommendation No. 1", strengthening the protection of minors and crime prevention.
It is understood that the "Girls Protection" team is a charitable organization with sufficient practical experience in the education of children's sexual assault prevention knowledge and social advocacy.
At present, it has nearly 200 volunteer teams, more than 5,000 professional volunteers, and tens of thousands of participating volunteers in more than 20 provinces across the country. It is a well-known public welfare project in China.
The meeting also released the "Protection of Girls' Children's Sexual Assault Case Statistics and Sexual Assault Prevention Education Survey Report in 2020". Many representatives of the National People’s Congress, members of the National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference, and industry experts who were invited to participate in the meeting, together with the Women and Children Working Committee of the State Council, the Supreme People’s Court, the Supreme People’s Procuratorate, and the Communist Youth League Central Committee and other relevant departments "Opportunities and Challenges", "Construction and Challenges of Assistance Mechanisms for Child Sexual Assault Cases" and other issues were discussed in depth, calling for speeding up the construction of minors' sexual assault prevention mechanisms.
