Chemnitz (dpa / sn) - The State Museum of Archeology in Chemnitz takes a look at the city as a place of complex societies in April.

Around 450 exhibits will illuminate different aspects of urban developments in a special exhibition - one of the first was received from Dresden on Thursday.

This is a police service uniform.

In the show, armor from Leipzig city soldiers from the 16th century will be juxtaposed, explained curator Jens Beutmann.

Urban life in the past will then also be illuminated on the basis of archaeological latrine finds.

According to Beutmann, former latrines often turn out to be important treasure troves for archaeologists today.

The show is to be opened virtually on March 31st and will then start regularly on April 1st.

Beutmann hopes that visitors can then be admitted to Chemnitz again.

"That will be decided at short notice."

The show «The City.

Between the skyline and the latrine »should be visible until the end of September.
