The Swedish Transport Workers' Union has for a long time excluded members who are active in the Sweden Democrats.
The union believes that it is not possible to combine a membership in Transport with being active in SD - that it is contrary to the purpose of Transport's activities.
The truck driver Mats Fredlund, who was expelled from Transport when he was elected to the municipal council in Kiruna, has sued Transport and demanded that the exclusion be lifted.
