Kiel (dpa / lno) - Prime Minister Daniel Günther (CDU) has given the people of Schleswig-Holstein hope that outdoor restaurants will open up in the state.

He hoped for a perspective for this after the talks between the federal and state governments on March 22nd, Günther said in the state parliament on Thursday.

"If we do not go over 100, we will enable outdoor catering in Schleswig-Holstein," he said with a view to the number of new infections per 100,000 inhabitants within seven days.

There is hardly an area that is as safe and well organized as gastronomy, said Günther.

The head of government was critical of the submission of daily negative corona tests for bookings in outdoor restaurants, which was discussed in the Prime Minister's Conference.

The state government in the north will find a “more practicable but safe way to do this”.

When opening steps, the government will generally always allow more outside than inside.

"Yes, it's safer outside than inside," said Günther.

The planned opening steps should not mean that people feel safe again.

Everyone must continue to be vigilant in the pandemic.

He has great confidence in those who start again on Monday.

"This opening step does not mean that everything can now be easy."
