Erfurt (dpa / th) - Also on Thursday morning, IG Metall called on employees of the metal and electrical industry in Thuringia to go on a warning strike.

60 employees on the early shift of the Danish company Hydrema Baumaschinen at the Weimar location stopped their work on Thursday morning, as Ilko Vehlow, first authorized representative of IG Metall Erfurt, said.

Before the workers resume their work around eight o'clock, one and a half hours later than usual, there should be rallies to clarify the collective bargaining rounds.

"In addition, we will announce that we will take tougher measures if that is not enough," said Vehlow.

Employees in five companies in the Zeiss Group and Jabil Optics Germany also want to stop work from 10 a.m., as announced by IG Metall Jena-Saalfeld and Gera.

In the home office warning strike, further actions of the union are to be planned via video conference.

In Thuringia, the negotiations for a new collective agreement for around 20,000 employees in the metal and electrical industry are stalling: in mid-February, the third round of negotiations was broken off without a result.

The Association of the Metal and Electrical Industry in Thuringia (VMET) had submitted an offer that was already known from other tariff areas.
