Magdeburg (dpa / sa) - At the schools in Mansfeld-Südharz there will be daily face-to-face lessons for everyone from Monday.

The Ministry of Education announced this on Thursday in Magdeburg.

This means that the first district in the country is switching back to unrestricted regular operation with full class strengths due to a low level of infection.

However, the general hygiene rules continue to apply.

In addition, the compulsory attendance at primary schools has been lifted.

In almost all other districts, however, operations are still restricted.

At the primary schools, the children learn every day in fixed classes with permanently assigned teachers in the same room.

Older age groups are divided up and learn alternately at school and with tasks at home.

Another week of emergency operation applies in the Burgenland district.

The state's new tiered model is thus taking effect.

Since March 1, there has been daily school operation with full class sizes everywhere where the infection rate is five days in a row under 50 corona cases per 100,000 inhabitants and week.

This is currently only achieved by Mansfeld-Südharz.

In regions that report fewer than 200 cases per 100,000 inhabitants per week for five days, the lessons are organized on an alternating basis.

Emergency operations are currently only continuing in the Burgenland district.

The circle, which has been particularly affected for weeks, is to implement several model tests to curb the infection process.

It is planned that schoolchildren will receive regular corona self-tests in the future in order to test the practice as a model.

At the same time, school operations are to be resumed there on March 15th.
