Some will say that the animal did it on purpose.
In Lorient, a dog that had escaped probably saved a woman from the blows of her violent companion.
It was a neighbor who had found the animal who decided to bring the dog back to his home.
Upon arriving, the neighbor discovered a child who explained to him that his mother was hit by his companion.
Hearing the cries, the neighbor alerted the Morbihan gendarmes.
On Wednesday, the man was tried in immediate appearance by the Lorient Criminal Court.
According to
Ouest-France
, the defendant was sentenced to two years in prison and kept in detention.
This penalty is accompanied by a stay ban in Morbihan for five years.
The victim did not wish to file a complaint, "for fear of reprisals".
