Munich (dpa / lby) - Bavaria is continuing the lockdown in the fight against the corona pandemic until March 28, but is loosening the regulations in some places.

The Free State is thus implementing the requirements that were decided by the Prime Minister of the federal states and Chancellor Angela Merkel (CDU) on Wednesday evening in Berlin.

That is the result of a cabinet meeting on Thursday.

Almost 9 out of 10 people in Bavaria should benefit from the relief provided by the new Corona strategy.

"87 percent experience a gradual improvement," said Prime Minister Markus Söder (CSU) on Thursday after the cabinet meeting in Munich.

Currently, 76 counties are under the decisive incidence for the easing measures decided with more than 100 new infections per 100,000 inhabitants.

But 20 districts are still above an incidence of 100, around 13 percent of the Bavarian population live here.

Little is happening in these areas for the time being.

As specified by the Bund-Länder-Round, more people in Bavaria will again be able to meet for private rounds.

Bookstores open from next Monday.

According to a step-by-step plan, in areas in which the seven-day incidence per 100,000 inhabitants is below 100 within a week, sport is permitted in small groups of children and for adults in pairs again in the fresh air.

With an incidence of less than 50, up to ten adults are allowed to play sports together.

The retail trade is allowed to reopen under strict conditions in areas with an incidence below 50; for incidences between 50 and 100, at least the “meet and collect” concept is possible again.

Gastronomy will remain closed until at least March 22nd, after which, under certain conditions, at least the outdoor restaurants could open.
