Schwerin (dpa / mv) - The infidelity trial against two former executives of the Müritz district association of the Arbeiterwohlfahrt (AWO) will continue at the Schwerin regional court.

The former financial accountant who started the investigation in 2016 with her complaint is said to be heard as a witness.

The public prosecutor accuses a former managing director and a former chairman of the AWO district association of particularly serious infidelity.

According to the indictment, both are said to have mutually generated excessive income at the expense of the AWO.

The defendants disagreed with the charges at the beginning of the trial.

A year ago, the former financial accountant spoke to an investigative committee of the Schwerin state parliament about the responsible bodies looking the other way.

The irregularities were apparent from the business reports.
