Microsoft announced the launch of a new platform with virtual reality technology that gives users the ability to be present in a place, despite spatial and temporal barriers.

Microsoft has launched a sharing platform with augmented reality technology, where users can meet in the form of avatars or 3D images in the same room, an additional step towards an immaterial future for work and other human activities.

The new platform will allow the development of applications specifically designed for use via augmented reality glasses or virtual reality, as well as through regular screens, smart phones and computers.

And with the use of augmented reality glasses, users can - for example - see things and pictures of people in 3D, in the form of an avatar, in their living room.

They will be able to talk to each other as they happen during a video call, as well as see the movements of other participants, thanks to the sensors that are equipped with the devices.

Misch will initially present people as virtual avatars taken from the AltspaceVR social network, which Microsoft acquired in 2017.

Ultimately, however, it will support what Microsoft calls Holoportation, allowing people to come to life in a virtual space.

Microsoft demonstrated the HoloLens using a shared Skype call, where a technical support service representative can, for example, guide you on how to fix some of the wires near you.

"The main advantage of mixed reality has always been the ability to be present despite the spatial and temporal barriers. I can be in a factory even if I am not present. And we have the same physical feeling," said Microsoft in charge of the platform, Alex Kipman.

The mesh platform needs some strong support from developers to deliver experiences that cannot be gotten anywhere else in virtual reality in order to gain some momentum.

It is for this reason that Microsoft has hired director James Cameron, and Niantic, the company behind Pokémon Go, to show Microsoft's seriousness in developing an environment for prepared reality on Mich.

This means that Mesh is not just a virtual meeting app;

It's a complete platform built on Azure cloud technology, and Microsoft hopes developers will benefit from it.

The company seeks for both architects and designers to benefit from the mesh network, especially during the pandemic when it is difficult to work with the solids without them all in the same room.

In the past two days, Microsoft and Google introduced new features and improvements to their remote work tools.

The two groups - like Facebook - seek to facilitate intra-company cooperation between field workers and office workers, and with external organizations as well.

Microsoft Vice President Frank Shaw said, "People think that 2020 is the year when work moves to home, but in reality this is the year that business moves to cloud computing."
