A 30-year-old man lost his life on Wednesday evening on a road in Ille-et-Vilaine.

While traveling on the RD177 between Janzé and Bain-de-Bretagne, a motorcyclist struck a utility vehicle during a very violent frontal collision which was fatal to him.

The road accident took place around 7.15 p.m. at a place called Bois Aubry, in Saulnières, south of Rennes.

Alerted, the emergency services were unable to do anything to revive the pilot of the two-wheeler, who was declared dead on the spot.

According to the gendarmes, the accident occurred while the motorcyclist had undertaken to overtake a vehicle.

At the same time, a utility vehicle left a parking lot to enter the track, without seeing that the motorcyclist was coming in front.

According to the gendarmes, the 1,100 cm3 motorcycle was totally destroyed in the impact.

His pilot, a resident of Saulnières, did not survive his injuries.

Third biker killed in ten days

Slightly injured in the hands and very shocked, the driver of the utility vehicle was transported to the CHU Pontchaillou.

An investigation was opened and entrusted to the Bain-de-Bretagne gendarmerie brigade.

He is the third biker to lose his life on the roads of Ille-et-Vilaine in recent weeks.

On February 21, a 27-year-old man was killed in Rennes while trying to escape police control.

Three days later, a 21-year-old man died in an accident on the bypass in the Breton capital.
