Berlin (dpa / bb) - A 75-year-old apparently drove through Berlin in an uncontrolled manner and had several accidents in the process.

The man had strayed from the street on Wednesday lunchtime at the Großer Stern in Tiergarten and hit a trailer parked on the edge, the police said on Thursday.

He then continued his ride unchecked on the sidewalk, where he collided with a 29-year-old cyclist who sustained serious injuries.

However, the man remained on the footpath with his car and finally crashed into a BVG bus shelter.

The people waiting there jumped aside.

None of them were injured.

But the 75-year-old suffered serious injuries to his head, torso and legs.

According to initial information, it is possible that the man suffered a stroke and thus lost control of his car.

The scene of the accident was closed for almost two hours.
