Radeberg (dpa / sn) - A total of 1200 people took part in the corona mass test in Radeberg until shortly before the end.

The Bautzen district office announced on Thursday that two infections with the virus had been detected since Tuesday.

The testers had the greatest rush on the first day of the test, when more than 820 people were already there.

The district office had decided to do the mass test after the spread of virus variants in the region was detectable.

The call is aimed at the approximately 47,000 inhabitants of Radeberg, Großröhrsdorf, Lichtenberg, Ottendorf-Okrilla, Wachau and Arnsdorf.

According to the authorities, 485 people in the district are currently infected with the corona virus.

The seven-day incidence is 99 new infections per 100,000 population.
