Berlin (dpa / bb) - The political and legal dispute over the house on Rigaer Strasse in Berlin-Friedrichshain, which is partly occupied by left-wing extremists, is endless.
The responsible district office continues to refuse to support an inspection of the entire house by a fire protection expert of the house owner and to oblige the residents to do so.
Instead, District Councilor Florian Schmidt (Greens) announced on Thursday a separate “fire protection inspection” for next Tuesday together with his building supervisor and a lawyer for the residents.
Only common areas such as stairwells and passageways as well as a few apartments should then be considered.
The barricaded house deals with numerous documented deficiencies in fire protection such as a lack of escape routes, illegal wall breakthroughs, faulty electrical cables and barriers in stairwells.
The owner and his expert therefore also want to examine all apartments.
Legally, they are first responsible for fire protection.
"The legal office of the district assumes, however, that entering the apartments, where this is not necessary according to the list of defects, is not permitted," said the district.

Therefore, the homeowner's lawyer announced a lawsuit.
This now leads to further processes and thus to significant delays in a possible inspection by a publicly sworn fire protection expert, according to the district.
That is the reason for the short-term planned inspection of Schmidt on Tuesday.
Before the appointment, the district demands "a security meeting between the district building supervisor and the police in order to carry out the inspection without a large-scale police operation".
For many years, the left-wing residents have refused the homeowner access to the building.
In the past, a property manager and a lawyer were attacked and injured by violent left-wing violent criminals.
Because the district has been inactive on the issue of fire protection for years and is also actively opposing it, Interior Senator Andreas Geisel (SPD) wanted to instruct him to act through the Senate.
The Greens in the Senate rejected this last Tuesday and postponed the issue for a week.
The «Rigaer 94» is considered to be one of the last symbols of the left-wing extremist scene in the capital.
There are repeated outbreaks of violence and attacks on police officers in the street.
