Wolfsburg (AP) - The German women's soccer champions VfL Wolfsburg are once again about to make it to the Champions League quarter-finals.

Last year's finalists won their round of 16 first leg against Norwegian club Lilleström SK 2-0 (1-0) on Wednesday.

Striker Alexandra Popp scored both goals for VfL in the 2nd and 59th minute.

Shortly before the end, the Wolfsburg women were lucky that the outsiders from Norway missed a great counter chance (88th).

Due to the travel restrictions of the coronavirus pandemic, the second game will take place in a week in Györ, Hungary.
