Düsseldorf (dpa) - The energy company Uniper got through the Corona year 2020 without major injuries.

Adjusted earnings before interest and taxes (EBIT) rose last year by around 16 percent to 998 million euros, as the MDax Group announced on Wednesday evening based on preliminary figures in Düsseldorf.

With this, the Rhinelander reached the upper end of the target range of 800 million to 1 billion euros.

The adjusted net result climbed by a good quarter to 774 million euros.

Here the power plant operator had targeted between 600 and 800 million.

As previously, Uniper wants to set the dividend as its target at 1.37 euros per share.

This would distribute around half a billion euros.

For the fiscal year that has just started, the Düsseldorf-based company is aiming for less profit.

Assuming normal business development, adjusted EBIT of EUR 700 to 950 million should be posted in 2021.

The adjusted net result should land between 550 and 750 million euros, analysts have almost 640 million euros, which is roughly the middle of the range on the list.
