Oberstdorf (dpa) - Led by gold winner Hans Christer Holund, the Norwegians have again demonstrated their exceptional class in cross-country skiing.

The 32 year old Holund prevailed over 15 kilometers in the free technique at the World Championships in Oberstdorf ahead of his compatriots Simen Hegstad Krüger and Harald Oestberg Amundsen.

After crossing the finish line, Holund yelled his joy out loud.

The Russian top athlete Alexander Bolschunow only took fourth place.

The favorite was still in the lead at the beginning of the race, but then broke in and quickly left the finish area after the work was done.

As expected, the German cross-country skiers had nothing to do with the fight for the medals.
