On Monday, a resident of Givors was sentenced to four years in prison, including three years, for assaulting his mother-in-law in Grigny, near Lyon, on Saturday February 27.
The defendant, from Seine-Saint-Denis, had come to the home of this 65-year-old woman to recover personal effects,

But, for some unknown reason, the situation escalated and the man severely beat his mother-in-law and dragged her to the ground before using a tear gas canister and running away.
The victim had to be transported by emergency services to the hospital, where she was heard by investigators.
Saturday evening, his son-in-law was arrested at his wife's home in Givors, then placed in police custody, before being tried before the Lyon Criminal Court.
He was imprisoned at the end of the hearing.
