What surprised you most about the students?

: I was shocked to find such an Islamic radicalism here that reminds me of my own youth in Saudi Arabia.

I was about the same age as them at the time of the September 11, 2001 attacks and grew up in a climate of glorification of bin Laden and al-Qaeda.

I had in no way expected to find it again here in France.
