Prime Minister Chung Sye-gyun said that prosecutor-general Yoon Seok-yeol "should be self-respecting" regarding the opposition to the political movement to separate the investigation and prosecution.

Prime Minister Chung posted a post on social media today (3rd) and pointed out, "With the opinion that only the prosecution can defend the justice of the Republic of Korea, we cannot carry out the reform of the prosecution requested by the public."

Prime Minister Chung especially criticized "the public officials of the administrative government have the responsibility to follow the system and procedure," and "to assume the office is an irresponsible incitement to the public."

He insisted, "In order to really reveal your beliefs, you have to give up your position and behave confidently," he said. "As a prime minister, I am very sorry for the remarks and behavior of President Yoon who stirs up the people."

Prime Minister Chung added, "I will closely watch this situation" and "I will deeply consider my role as Prime Minister."

Prime Minister Jung pointed out, "President Yoon is the prosecutor general who is in charge of the administration, and he is like a politician when he sees him doing yesterday," he said on tbs radio this morning.

In addition, he said, “If the prosecution has been good at protecting human rights and serving the people properly, there is no reason to promote the revision of the law.
