Erfurt (dpa / th) - After weeks of corona lockdown in Thuringia, the expectations of the federal-state conference on how to proceed in the corona pandemic on Wednesday are high.

Above all, the economy demands a clear perspective before the meeting of the Prime Ministers with Chancellor Angela Merkel (CDU).

"We need a change of course with a gradual cross-sector opening strategy," said the President of the Association of the Economy, Hartmut Koch.

A nationwide uniform framework would have to be set under which conditions the opening of trade and services would be possible.

Thuringia's Prime Minister Bodo Ramelow (left) has been pleading for a cross-border strategy that is not only based on the number of infections.

Thuringia is still the state with the strongest infection rate in Germany.

According to the papers available so far, the lockdown is to be extended to March 28, also because of the danger posed by the new virus variants.

However, as early as next week, the first easing could be possible - depending on the seven-day incidence.

An essential point for the openings should therefore be a comprehensive test strategy.
