Wiesbaden (dpa / lhe) - 112,800 doses of the corona vaccine from Astrazeneca have now been delivered to the 28 vaccination centers in Hessen.
A further delivery of 50 400 doses of this vaccine will also be distributed to the districts and urban districts in the course of the week, said a spokesman for the Ministry of the Interior at the request of the German Press Agency in Wiesbaden.
As of March 1, 24 451 cans of Astrazeneca have been used in Hesse to protect against corona infection.
According to the ministry, around 12,000 doctors and medical staff recently received the vaccine from Astrazeneca in the vaccination centers.
More “practical days” followed on the coming weekend.
In addition, the staff in elementary and special schools, in day care and the police will receive vaccinations with Astrazeneca at other collective appointments.
According to the current Corona Vaccination Ordinance, people between the ages of 18 and 65 should be vaccinated with Astrazeneca if possible.
In Hessen, the opening of the second prioritization group had already been initiated with the start of the registration process.
Around 1.5 million people belong to this group.
Both within prioritization group 2 and in prioritization group 3 there are many hundreds of thousands of citizens in Hesse who are eligible for vaccination with Astrazeneca, said the ministry.
The preparation of the vaccination logistics for the nationwide vaccination of Astrazeneca in the 28 vaccination centers in the country has meanwhile been completed, so that the number of vaccinations with this vaccine will increase rapidly in the near future.
