Since the General Administration of Customs announced the suspension of the import of Taiwanese pineapples (pineapples) from the mainland on March 1, the leaders of the Taiwan authorities, deputy leaders, and politicians of the DPP have taken turns to play, clamoring for "the CCP's suppression" and performing vigorously. "Eat pineapples to save Taiwan", from vilifying the mainland as an "international trade villain" to "just finding reasons to suppress Taiwan", to the so-called "defending free pineapples", the DPP went up and down to "politicize" and manipulate things. There was a "pineapple farce" with much fanfare and became a "spectacle" on the island.

　　Why does the mainland want to suspend imports of Taiwanese pineapples?

The answer is simple, because Taiwanese pineapples have been detected as harmful organisms many times.

Since 2020, mainland customs have repeatedly intercepted quarantine pests from pineapples imported from Taiwan to the mainland. Once these pests are introduced, they will pose a serious threat to mainland agricultural production and ecological security.

The General Administration of Customs and the Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council explained this very clearly.

The implementation of inspection and quarantine of imported agricultural products in accordance with the law is a requirement for the implementation of relevant laws, regulations and standards, as well as a need to prevent plant epidemic risks and protect people's rights and interests.

Previously, in the name of quarantine safety, the DPP authorities banned the import of mainland hairy crabs and banned the import of 11 kinds of fresh fruits from five regions in Southeast Asia, including Thai mangosteen. Why these are "reasonable" in the eyes of the DPP and the mainland suspended the import of Taiwanese pineapples. Is it "wrong and inconsistent with international norms" that has become the so-called "political suppression"?

Of course, it is the hard work of Taiwanese fruit growers.

In this regard, the "fully in power" DPP must bear "full responsibility."

Since last year, Taiwan's pineapple sales to the mainland have successively encountered problems such as return, quarantine, and so on. "Freezing three feet is not a day's cold."

The DPP authorities did not respond seriously and focused on strengthening the safety and quarantine of agricultural products. Second, they did not actively communicate. They also unilaterally undermined cross-strait political mutual trust, obstructed cross-strait exchanges, blocked cross-strait affairs consultation channels, and ignored the interests of the people on the island. .

If the communication channels between the two sides of the strait are unblocked, relevant personnel can discuss the problem professionally and rationally. Why has this problem been repeatedly fermented, and why the vast number of Taiwanese fruit farmers have spent all their efforts and sweat?

　　The DPP has neither the will nor the ability to solve practical problems. It can only evade its own responsibilities by slandering the mainland.

When something happens, deliberately distorting and malicious interpretation, taking the opportunity to attack and discredit the mainland, has become their "knee-jumping reflex."

In the five years since it came to power, the DPP has done all its bad things, refused to recognize the "92 Consensus," brainwashed to create opposition, and secretly engaged in "cultural Taiwan independence" and "flexible Taiwan independence"... Since the outbreak of the new crown pneumonia epidemic, it has become more intensified and linked to external parties. The forces "seeking independence by the epidemic", banned masks from the mainland, banned "Xiao Ming" from going home, banned vaccines from the mainland, and still shouted "Wuhan pneumonia", not to mention the ban on land-based goods and children's books on the mainland, and so on.

Manipulating "hostile to China", "anti-China" and "fear of China" in everything is interpreted from a pan-politicized perspective. This is also true of the pineapple incident, showing its gloomy psychology and inability to govern.

　　In order to appease the vast number of farmers in Taiwan, the DPP authorities took a caring posture, standing next to the fruit growers holding pineapples and shouting "eat Taiwanese pineapples", and the famous mouth of the island said ridiculously: "Everyone is 18 per day. Is it difficult to eat a kilogram of pineapple for two weeks?" What benefit does this seemingly lively scene have in solving the problem?

The DPP does not understand that relying on “eating” is not a long-term solution, and it will crowd out other industries. It is even more difficult to open up new markets. More than 90% of Taiwan’s export pineapples are exported to the mainland. Where can we find such a large market? When the country's favor is not enough, will Southeast Asian countries buy Taiwanese pineapples?

　　A few days later, the DPP authorities have neither discussed how to eliminate pineapple pests, strengthen quarantine, nor reflect on their attitudes towards cross-strait exchanges.

Instead, a group of green camp politicians insisted that "there is no problem with Taiwan pineapple quarantine, you are poisonous."

The field shows of green camp politicians are all just to win votes and consolidate vested political interests.

It's just a pity that Taiwan farmers have been deceived by the DPP and lost the opportunity to share the fruits of cross-strait economic and trade exchanges.
