A man in his twenties attacked pedestrians with an ax at around 3pm local time yesterday in downtown Vetlanta in southern Sweden, wounding eight people.
Two of the injured were known to be seriously injured.
The suspect was shot in the leg and taken to the hospital while being reported and arrested by police dispatched to the scene.
Police say the attack is presumed to be terrorism.
