In the accident on the federal highway 33 near Berghaupten, a previously unknown truck driver had overlooked a 69-year-old two-wheeler driver when changing to the right lane.
In the collision, the scooter driver was injured so badly that he died at the scene of the accident.
According to investigations, the truck driver escaped from the scene of the accident, several patrol cars and a helicopter searched in vain for the car.
