Essen (dpa / lnw) - The fire brigade in Essen rescued a 48-year-old man who was trapped under a wheel loader.
According to the announcement, the man got his arm under the 1.5 tonne overturned device on Wednesday morning for an unexplained cause and was unable to free himself.
The emergency services only succeeded in rescuing it after a laborious operation with a tractor that lifted the wheel loader and so-called lifting bags.
The seriously injured was first given emergency medical care and then flown to a hospital in a rescue helicopter, it said.
How the accident came about was initially unclear.
