Magdeburg (dpa / sa) - The number of new corona infections per 100,000 inhabitants within 7 days has hardly changed in Saxony-Anhalt.

According to the Ministry of Social Affairs, the so-called 7-day incidence on Wednesday was 94.86 (Tuesday: 94.27) - and thus still well above the nationwide value.

According to the Robert Koch Institute, Saxony-Anhalt is, after Thuringia, one of the federal states with the currently strongest infection rate.

The nationwide 7-day incidence is therefore 64.

The Ministry of Social Affairs reported 409 new infections and another 16 deaths related to the corona virus within one day.

So so far 2,491 people in the country have died with or from Sars-CoV-2.

Since the beginning of the pandemic, 61,688 corona cases have been recorded in Saxony-Anhalt.

There are currently 92 intensive care and ventilation beds occupied by Covid 19 patients.
