Cologne (dpa / lnw) - The North Rhine hotel and restaurant association threatens to take action against the ongoing closings of hotels and restaurants before the corona deliberations of the federal and state governments.

The proposed resolution from the Chancellery on the hospitality industry that has become known is unacceptable, the Dehoga Nordrhein announced on Tuesday.

Numerous member companies have asked the association to take legal action against regulations on this basis.

One wants to commission a law firm with a corresponding lawsuit.

In its criticism of the draft, the association said that concrete strategies were needed that would enable all catering establishments to be permanently open.

45,000 companies in North Rhine-Westphalia alone would be put off.

Politicians are "obviously not doing anything that gives the hotel and catering trade any form of hope and prospects."

The risk of infection in many areas of the industry is low.

This applies to the outdoor area, for hotels, but similarly also for restaurants with protection concepts.

"That is why a specific scenario within an opening strategy is the least we expect."

A preliminary decision paper for the Bund-Länder round on Wednesday provides, among other things, that outdoor areas of restaurants should only open if the incidence remains stable at below 35 for 14 days.

From a value that has yet to be determined, you could at least go out to eat by booking an appointment.

Tests would be required if people from several households are sitting at the same table.

According to the draft resolution, further relaxation, for example for interior areas of restaurants and the hotel industry, will not be discussed until the next federal-state round.
