Magdeburg (dpa / sa) - More than 100,000 people in Saxony-Anhalt have now received a first Corona vaccination.

The Ministry of Social Affairs announced on Tuesday in Magdeburg that around 4.6 percent of the population had been vaccinated at least once.

According to the Robert Koch Institute, the vaccination rate is the second lowest of all federal states.

Only Brandenburg is worse off with 4.3 percent.

About 53,300 people in Saxony-Anhalt already received two doses.

Here, too, the state is in the rear third in a national comparison with a vaccination rate of 2.4 percent.

According to the ministry, the “vaccination offers in the old people's and nursing homes are de facto completed”.
