Sohland / Aue (dpa / sn) - With the first warning strikes, IG Metall emphasized its demands on employers on Tuesday in Sohland (Bautzen district) and Aue (Zwickau district).

According to the union, 50 metal workers temporarily stopped work in Sohland, and up to 80 metal workers in Aue took part in the strike.

Previously, IG Metall Ostsachsen had distributed “warning strike tickets”.

This limited the number of strikers in order to keep the distance rules.

The night before, the union's peace obligation in the current collective bargaining round in the metal and electrical industry had expired.

IG Metall is demanding 4 percent more money for twelve months, which is to be used to secure employment and income.

In addition to future company collective agreements, according to the union, a collective adjustment allowance and the improvement of takeover regulations for apprentices are also topics in the negotiations.

According to the information, the employees in Aue are campaigning, among other things, for the wages in the company collective agreement that applies to them to be further aligned with those of the area tariff.
