Magdeburg (dpa / sa) - The number of new corona infections per 100,000 inhabitants within seven days has fallen slightly again in Saxony-Anhalt.

According to the Ministry of Social Affairs, the so-called seven-day incidence on Tuesday was 94.27 (Monday: 97.37).

However, the value is still well above the national average.

According to the Robert Koch Institute, Saxony-Anhalt is one of the federal states with the highest levels of infection after Thuringia.

The nationwide seven-day incidence is therefore 65.4.

The Ministry of Social Affairs reported 213 new infections within one day and a further 21 deaths related to the virus.

So so far 2,475 people in the country have died with or from Sars-CoV-2.

Since the beginning of the pandemic, 61,277 corona cases have been recorded in Saxony-Anhalt.

There are currently 85 intensive care and ventilation beds occupied by Covid 19 patients.

45 of these patients are artificially ventilated.

Since the vaccination started at the end of 2020, 101,097 people across the country have received the first injection, and 53,229 the second vaccination.

According to the ministry, 3713 first vaccinations were reported on Monday.

The nationwide rate for first vaccinations is 4.6 percent, and that for second vaccinations is just under 2.4 percent.
