Pullach (dpa) - The car rental company Sixt is preparing for increasing demand and can now borrow up to 750 million euros from a bank consortium over the next few years.

"This includes, in particular, the flexible expansion of our fleet," said Chief Strategy Officer Alexander Sixt on Monday in Pullach.

The new credit line replaces the previously unused credit concluded in May 2020 with the participation of the state credit institution for reconstruction (KfW).

The company has "so far been extremely stable through the Corona crisis and in very good health," said Sixt.

After the corona travel restrictions are relaxed, the board expects international travel to gradually increase.

With the new credit line from Commerzbank, DZ, UniCredit, Crédit Agricole, SEB and Deutsche Bank “at attractive terms” and without KfW's participation, the company is preparing itself financially for expanding its vehicle fleet.

Together with a bond for 300 million euros from December, Sixt can react quickly and flexibly.
