Duisburg / Cologne (dpa / lnw) - In order to be able to get the leftover, already thawed Biontech vaccine to the people, the vaccination center of the city of Duisburg uses a newly developed software called "Impfbrücke".

From a list of those willing to vaccinate from the prioritized group, people are selected at random and written to by SMS, as city spokeswoman Anja Kopka reported on Monday.

Those who accept the offer can be vaccinated on the same day.

"It's about 15 cans a day."

The experience is good.

The "Kölner Stadt-Anzeiger" had previously reported on the software developed in Cologne.

"For each vaccination dose, the program currently sends SMS to three people at the same time," said Manuel Hüttel from the software start-up "Lit labs" of the newspaper.

«Whoever agrees first gets the appointment.

If no one reacted after 30 minutes, three new people will be contacted. "

A prototype of the system is in use in Duisburg.
